Dr. Khin Maung Aye, aged 42, joined the Company as the chairman and a director in March, 2015, principally responsible for the business development and overall strategic planning of the Group. Dr. Khin possesses extensive experience in the local property market since 1995.
Dr. Khin was the founder of Lat War Garment Factory, one of the top 5 local garment factories in Myanmar. He is currently a central executive committee member of Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, the chairman of Garment Employer Association of Hlaing Thar Yar Township and a member of National Research and Advisor Committee for Minimum Wages.
Dr. Khin started his career by working in his family-owned Union Rubber Factory in 1990. From 1995 to 1999, he had been an active agent and private investor in Myanmar’s real estate business. In 1999, Dr. Khin established Lat War Company Limited (“Lat War”) and started garment manufacturing business in Myanmar. Throughout the recent years, Lat War has diversified into property development and paper and pulp production businesses. Since 2009, Lat War, together with certain construction companies as partners, has jointly developed a few residential projects located in the heart of Yangon city with aggregate gross floor area of approximately 1 million square feet. In 2013, Lat War leased an existing paper and pulp factory from the Ministry of Industry and took over its operation. Since 2014, Lat War has secured certain amount of natural gas supply to cater for the future set-up of a power plant.
Dr. Khin graduated from the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, and was awarded M.B., B.S. (YGN) in 2001.
Mr. Thinn Maung Aye, aged 39, joined the Company as the vice-chairman and a director in March, 2015, principally responsible for the business development and overall strategic planning of the Group. Mr. Thinn possesses extensive experience in the local real estate market.
Mr. Thinn was a co-founder of Lat War Garment Factory (“Lat War”), one of the top 5 local garment factories in Myanmar and started garment manufacturing business in 1999. Apart from being the said co-founder, Mr. Thinn started being an active realtor in 2004, thereby accumulated comprehensive knowledge and experience on sales and marketing in the local real estate market. Throughout the recent years, together with Dr. Khin Maung Aye, they have expanded the business of Lat War to include property development and paper and pulp production. Mr. Thinn obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from Yangon Institute of Technology University (YIT) in 2002.
Mr. Wu Chi Chiu, aged 53, has been a director and chief executive officer of the Company since September 2013, principally responsible for overall business management and corporate finance activities of the Group. Mr. Wu played an active role in the establishment of the Group. He possesses extensive experience in the property and equity investment market of Hong Kong and years of experience as director of listed companies in Hong Kong.
Mr. Wu has been an independent non-executive director of Chinney Alliance Group Limited (Stock code: 385), a company listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the “HK Stock Exchange”), since March 2012. He had been an executive director, the vice-chairman and the chief executive officer of China Motion Telecom International Limited (now known as Ground Properties Company Limited, Stock code: 989), a company listed on the Main Board of the HK Stock Exchange, for over 7 years since 2006, mainly responsible for business management as well as corporate finance activities of that group. Besides, he had been a non-executive director as well as an independent non-executive director of certain other companies listed on the Main Board of the HK Stock Exchange.
Mr. Wu holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, Canada.
Ms. Swe Zin Nyein, aged 32, has been a director of the Company since its incorporation in September 2013. She played an active role in the establishment of the Group and has been a director of each of the Singapore Group Companies since their respective inceptions.
Ms. Swe is principally responsible for managing the general administration and overseeing the general banking and financial activities of the Group, as well as managing the human resources management of the Myanmar Group Companies. Having discharged these functions since the inception of the Group, Ms. Swe is well versed in banking, financials, administration and human resources management. Such expertise was also gained through her role as an associate director in Lat War Company Limited, having been one of the top five local garment manufacturing companies in Myanmar, where she was primarily responsible for the general corporate management of the company since 2011.
Apart from her expertise in the fields as described above, Ms. Swe also has expertise in sectors such as engineering. During the period between 2005 and 2011, Ms. Swe has worked for private companies in the engineering sector, where she was responsible for the designing and tendering functions of engineering projects.
Academic wise, Ms. Swe has a strong foundation in the engineering field, as evidenced by her diploma in Mechatronics from Singapore Polytechnic in 2005 and her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from National University of Singapore in 2009.
Mr. Hoe Ghim Wee, aged 37, joined the Company as chief financial officer in April 2014, principally responsible for the finance and accounting functions of the Group. Mr. Hoe is an experienced professional in the area of accounting and finance.
Prior to joining the Group, Mr. Hoe was a senior manager in the financial services assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, specialising in the banking and capital markets sector. Other sectors that he had been involved in include the oil and gas, and the freight and logistics industries. During his time with the firm, he had led teams in the provision of professional services such as ISAs and SSAs-based financial audits, US SOX and China SOX attestation reviews of internal controls, internal audits, regulatory reviews and advisory projects including financial due diligence and feasibility studies relating to structuring of loan products amongst others. He has experience working with a wide range of foreign and locally-listed corporations, as well as privately-held companies. During his tenure of almost twelve years with the firm, he had been seconded to PricewaterhouseCoopers Aarata (Tokyo, Japan) for a period of three years, and to PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhong Tian CPAs Limited Company (Beijing, People’s Republic of China) for a period of two years.
Mr. Hoe is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore and a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (previously known as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore) since 2008. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
